Funky Minis!!!

History :

Minis go back many years with this family my Uncle had a 1962 Mini 850 that was bored out to 940 cc and fitted with an A2 cam and Janspeed 3 branch exhaust. This little car was capable of 100 MPH!

I've always loved Minis since I was small and my mum used to take me to school in her rusty old Mini Clubman. When it was raining the water used to spray up through the holes in the floor!! Eventually it was so rusty we sent it to the scrap heap, it needed over £1000 of work on it to pass its mot! We stole the doors first to put on my Mini. The framework was so rusty we were able to pull them off!

My Mum's Mini just before it was sent to the scrap heap!

Three years ago just before passing my driving test I bought my first car, a mini of course!! It was a silver Mini Mayfair 998 and I called it Melvyn! The only problem is, as with most Minis, it leaks!! Every time it rains my car fills up with water! One of my friends suggested I should drill holes in the floor so it can drain back out again!! My Dad decided to buy me a newer Mini to replace Melvyn, the new car is a 1994 Mini 35 in Metalic Blue. Unlike Melvyn this car does not leak, and I have the complete service history of this car. The car was purchased from Framptons of Purbrook the same place my sister's car came from.

In February 2000 my younger sister, Sarah decided to follow the trend! She bought a 1978, Cinnabar Red Mini 1000. This car has only done 40,000 Miles from new had two lady owners and the majority of the car is original. we intend to take this car to mini rallies in the future

No signs of rust…yet!
