Viva La Revolucion!

This site is dedicated to the memory of Salvador Benes, and to the thousands of ordinary Mezaguaians who have died at the hands of the military since the coup.

Since the military take-over, the reactionary regime of Goncales has repressed our people by both direct military action against areas containing political opponents, but also by use of the murderous police and security troops (particularly the dreaded "Los Dedos").

We, the freedom fighters of the Fronto Popular del Mezaguay, are the inheritors of Benes' dream - for an egalitarian, socialist Mezaguay with a duty to fight poverty, disease and corruption. We have tried peaceful, democratic means, but the brutal, fascistic military command would not allow the people their free determination. Thus we have taken to the hills and jungles to form combat units, and to the streets of the slums in Malagate and the other cities to subvert this martial law. Under the guidance of Sr. Marco Benes, we are fighting a successful campaign against the military, but we need help and support from outside our country.

The misguided US Senate and President are backing the regime of Gomes, who is now taking the place of Coronel Goncales, as they feel happier with such people in charge here. But, would the American public accept a government which shot "suspects" out of hand, without trial? Which drags innocent men, women and children from their beds for torture, rape and murder? Which has openly announced a "Unification" program which destroys the very fabric of the Meztec Indian culture?

We think not, and hope that the Americans and other countries will follow the lead of our peace-loving friends in the USSR, Cuba and the PRC in condemning the Junta and its actions.
