 The club was formed in 2001 by co-owners Derek Peberdy,
Karen Martindale and Janine Parry. The premises, which had been a bakery, was in a terrible state, but, after months of hard work, the building finally became a first class gymnastics centre.
When opened, the club could boast 4 coaches and about 20 gymnasts. The club has since grown beyond all expectations, and can now call on the skills of 16 qualified coaches, and has a
membership of 250 gymnasts.
Success has followed success on the competition floor, and, during the last few years, the club can proudly claim the following:

2 European Championships - Tumbling
4 Great Britain Championships - Tumbling
1 Great Britain Silver Medalist - Tumbling
1 Great Britain Bronze Medalist - Tumbling
1 Great Britain Grades Champion - Men's Artistic
2 Great Britain Grades Championships - Women's Artistic
4 North-west Region Grades Championships - Women's Artistic
7 North-west Region Intermediate / Novice Championships - Women's Artistic
2 County Championships - Women's Artistic
  Add to this dozens of medals at numerous other events, and the
club is rightly proud of it's progress. In 2003, the British Amateur Gymnastics Association named the club as a High Performance
Centre for Tumbling, the only club on the Wirral with this honour. In 2004, BAGA further honoured Wirral Gymnastics by awarding it's prestigious Gym Mark accreditation to the club, meaning that we are
recognised as being amongst the best run clubs in the country.
The club has 8 competitive squads and also caters for beginners working in recreational squads which run 7 times per week. Working closely with the local education authority, we are also
able to offer our expertise in providing classes for seven local schools during term time. With these and the Mums and Tots classes, and the building is busy most of the week.
 The gymnastic disciplines covered
by the club are Tumbling, Women's Artistic 4 piece, Women's Artistic 2 piece, Men's Artistic 6-piece, Men's Artistic 2-piece, General Gymnastics, and Pre-school Gymnastics.
 Our well equipped gym includes a
sprung floor, a full length carbon fibre tumble track, a double-mini trampoline, 3 high beams, a vaulting table, 2 sets of asymmetric bars, parallel bars, rings, 2 training pommels and a metal high bar.
