Creating A Christmas Wreath
With Flashing Lights!

Happy Christmas!

This tutorial was created for Paint Shop Pro 7.

Please don't be put off by the amount of screenshots.

These are there, so that even if you are only starting with Paint Shop Pro,

you may be able to follow this tutorial.

You can download the tubes I use below.



Unzip to your tubes folder in Paint Shop Pro.

You can download more holiday tubes from the Jasc site.

Please remember to save your work, as you work through this tutorial.



1. Open a new transparent image. 400 by 400




2. Click on the Selection Tool.

Use these settings.






3. Make a selection as illustrated below.

This does not need to be exact

as the circle is only a guide and will be deleted later.






4. Flood fill the selection with any colour.



Go to Selections and down to Select None. (Shortcut Ctrl+D)




5. Add new Layer.

To add a Layer go to Layers and down to New Raster Layer and then click OK.

Using the spruce tube. (scale 30)

Click repeatedly around the circle.

Until you have something that looks like this.






6. Select Layer 1,



Click on the bin to delete this layer.

Or go to Layers and down to Delete.




7. Select the pine cone tube (scale about 35).

Add some pine cones to your wreath.






8. Select the poinsettia tube (scale about 55).

Add some poinsettias to your wreath.






9. Add a bow to your wreath.






10. Add a New Raster Layer.

Select your lights tube (scale about 50) and add some lights to your wreath.








11. Add a New Raster Layer.

Add your text to this layer



Go to Selections and down to Select None. (Shortcut Ctrl+D)




12. Add a New Raster Layer.

Go to Layers and down to Arrange and across and down to Send to Bottom.

Flood fill with a colour of your choice.

Got to Effects and down to Texture Effects and across to Blinds

I used these settings.






13. Go to Effects and down to 3D Effects and across to Buttonise.

I used these settings.






Save your work in psp format,

before continuing the tutorial.
