Gerry Thrussell has been running excellent bird-watching trips for many years and welcomes new and experienced birders to join him on his excellent trips

The coaches have three pick-up points in the Leeds area: 

Easterly Rd at 7.45am

Bramley Town End at 8.15am

Infirmary St in the centre of Leeds at 8.30am.

 

Trips during January & February depart 30 minutes later than stated times.

 

March 11 Washington Wildfowl Trust £9

Entry is free to this splendid reserve.

 

April 15 Clumber Park & Carburton Lakes £8

Early migrants in beautiful parkland.

 

May 6 Upper Teesdale £9 

Today we visit High Force and Low Force water falls. Black Grouse, Redstart, Common Sandpiper and Buzzard.

 

May 20 Whisby Nature Reserve £9

Nightingales and Warblers.

 

June 10 Potteric Carr £8 + £1.50 entry fee.

Lots to see on this recently updated reserve.

 

July 1 Bempton Cliffs & South Landing £8.50

Thousands of seabirds to be seen here.

 

July 22 Blacktoft Sands RSPB* & The Humber Estuary £9

Over 50 species seen at Blacktoft last year.

 

August 19 Top Hill Low NR £8.50 + £1 entry fee.

Lots of birds and butterflies here.

 

September 16 Filey, Scarborough & Scalby Mills £8.50

Terns, Waders and passage migrants.

 

October 7 Hartlepool Bay & Teesmouth £8.50

Terns, Skuas, Passage migrants & Winter visitors.

 

October 28 Two South Yorkshire Nature Reserves £8

Visitor centres at both reserves.

 

November 25 Old Moor Wetland RSPB* £8

Our second visit to this reserve this year. Good hides, good walking and good visitor centre & cafe. Takes some beating!

Trips marked with * indicate that a small entrance fee will be payable to non-members of the RSPB or the Wildfowl Trust. Members of these groups should carry their membership cards to avoid the need of paying again.
