Neck : of medium length, full and broad at the shoulders. The neck should blend smoothly into the chest, shoulders and head. The head and throat should have no folds or creases. The neck should be full in feather & have a smooth, flowing contour.Eyes : the iris should be pearl to white in colour, free of cloudiness and free from gravel (flecks of colour). The iris should fit flush against the eye cere so as no eye muscle is exposed between the iris and the eye cere. The pupil should be round, centred, black and as small as possible. Eyes should not be recessed (sunken). Bull or cracked eyes, and yellow, orange or red coloured eyes are all faults.
Eye Cere : small and threadlike, of fine texture. Eye cere to be closely feathered with no skin exposed between feathering and eye cere.
Wattle : small, close fitting, neat, fine & fleshy in texture. The wattle should be powdery white in colour & free from stains and marks.
Beak : medium in length and thickness and flesh coloured; free of coarseness and smooth with no scaling or discolouration. When the bird is standing upright, the beak should have a slight downward angle. The line between the upper and lower beak if extended in a straight line should pass through the bottom edge of the eye.
Hocks : short in length and not to be profusely feathered.
Flights & Tail : whilst the West is standing with the flights tightly folded there should be broad & short coverts closing neatly over and covering the rump
( commonly referred to as back cover ). The tail should be closely folded and slightly wedged to a width of ideally one feather. The flights should rest on top of the tail, with tips of the flights just touching. Tail & primary flight feathers to be strong and of good width. The tail should have twelve white feathers only. Thirteen or more feathers constitute an automatic disqualification from any show. With the wing open, primary and secondary feathers should form a complete and flowing arc, with no gaps or steps. All primary and secondary feathers (10 of each) should be strong and of a good width so as to produce the perfect webbing necessary for good flying ability.
