Okay, so you may already know there are the Tribes of Coventry. Here's the rundown of the types of teenagers that invade the Coventry City Centre and afield:Townies:
Not the friendliest of people, especially Coventry which isn't the most friendly of places. These unfortunate folk are usually perceived as lower class scallies. The usual dress code is sports tracksuits with the trousers tucked into their socks. The footwear is always of a Rockport or Adidas Classics variety.
The males of the species usually have a lack of intellegence and English and involving a lot of swearing to make up for it. They usually wear cheap Argos Soverign rings on their hands and wear a skinhead haircut. Either that or a gelled mess.
The female of the townie species feel a need to place the biggest fring they can on their head and also to wear as many cheap gold Soverign dinner plates and gold chains as possible. They sometimes have large bruises on their necks, these are unfortunately filthy love bites that they think makes them look more attractive.
Townies unfortunately have do not know the meaning of contraception, especially in Coventry and it's a typical sight to see teenagers, as young as even 12 pushing pushchairs screaming at their offsprings.
Taste of music includes Pop, R&B, UK Garage, and the cheesey Judge Jules/Dave Pearce/Ministry Of Sound Trance music. Also Hard House.
Likely to see them all over the city centre, outside Off Licences, in dodgy clubs like Release and The Jag. Basically all over Coventry. If you see a group at night in the city centre then it's possible that trouble is lurking nearby.
Moshers/Skaters
Big baggy trousers are the clothes of choice. Usually about 40 cm circumference waist. Hoodies for the moshers and Shorties/Emerica etc clothing for skaters. Their a cheery bunch of people. Unlike townies they won't start a fight because you were giving stares. Actually, in a fight with a townie and a skater, the skater kicked his head in.
I have nothing against skaters. Usually friendlier and I know too many. I can actually inline anyway so I kind of take codes in the tribe even though I don't dress like them.
Stereotypical view of Skaters music is Limp Bizkit/Papa Roach. Ask them what they listen to and they could say something like Tool or Less Than Jake.
Their sports include BMXing, Inlining and Skatebording. Most likely to see them in the city centre practicing tricks or in the Memorial Park just outside the city centre.
Goths:
A weird view from goths. They say they try to be more alternative and different in their character and looks but at the end of the day they all look the same. Friendly people though.
Dress code is black and thats it really. The future is bright, the future is black.
Music is stereotyped as Maralin Manson. Something more like Cradle Of Filth or something like that. Ask one and see what they say.
In Coventry they usually group around the Lady Godiva statue in Cathedral Lanes. There are lots!
