MY NAME IS STEVE SHAW. I LIVE IN NORTH CORNWALL AND SINCE THE EARLY 1990s I HAVE BEEN PLAYING TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC ON THE HARMONICA. I was a very late starter (I am already well into my fifties) and, until a few years ago, most of what I knew about harmonica playing I had found out for myself. I had suspected for a while that this approach could be very limiting. I'm now finding out that there are many superb players "out there" who are more than willing to share their knowledge. My aim on this website is to present a potted version of my experiences and knowledge gained, and to try to keep this up-to-date as I find out more. I have another site which I'm using as a platform to sound off about some of my favourite non-Irish harmonica issues. I describe what I think about cleaning, hygiene, lip-care, tinkering with harps and more, all from the amateur's point of view. And I tell you about the mistakes I've made over the years. It's at http://harmonicapics.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk STEVE. Click on any button to read on. This site was last updated on January 28 2008.
