Within months of the SETI@home project being launched rumours began to circulate about a previously unknown disease that began to affect thousands of SETI@home users, the symptoms included;
	Depression due to slow processing of work units. Work unit withdrawal (WUW) normally caused by a breakdown of the Seti at Home server. Low self esteem due to a low standing in the Seti at Home statistics. Paranoia attacks caused by believing that the Seti at Home program is a government plot that is keeping track of all information on your computer. Or is a program run primarily by aliens who are inhabiting the planet already and using the Seti at Home software to gather information that will be useful when it comes time to assimilate all intelligent life on earth.
	It was quickly realised that urgent intervention was needed before it became a global epidemic. Carolyn's Clinic was established in 1999 to treat the affliction that is now better known as "SETIholism". The Clinic has become one of the world's leading internet treatment facilities for diseases and psychosis that afflict people who run the Seti at Home program for extended periods of time. The dedicated Nursing staff work tirelessly to bring peace and tranquility back into the patients lives. Without the help of Nurse Olga, and her more than able assistants, Nurse Goodbody and Nurse Rita Ratchette RN (retired) many would still be wandering aimlessly in the SETi wilderness. 	Carolyn's Clinic, the world's largest internet treatment facility for the disorders caused by running the S@H program, now has the added bonus of the Clinic's S@H Club. Membership is open to all recent graduates of the Clinic program. Many former patients, who were cured of various SETI@home traumas at the world famous Ohio Clinic, wondered if there was a way that they could safely return to running the program without becoming a "SETIholic" once again. Again the staff showed their fortitude by forming the Carolyn's Clinic SETI@home club. Here former patients can return to participate in the project safe in the knowledge that the staff are keeping their expert eye on them.
