We are dedicated to the conservation and improvement of all the natural habitats in our area, for the benefit of everyone who enjoys wildlife and nature.

TeRNS works in partnership with the Abney Park Trust, the British Trust for Ornithology, Butterfly Conservation, the London Natural History Society, and Thames Water, and advises the London Borough of Hackney.

We have recorded more than 120 bird, and over 20 butterfly, species in Stoke Newington - good figures for a metropolitan area. Newington nature

Our recording and reporting area is bordered by Stoke Newington Church Street, Green Lanes, Seven Sisters Road, Amhurst Park, Holmleigh Cuttings Nature Reserve (East Bank), and Stamford Hill, Hackney.

What TeRNS does -
Encourages greater awareness of Stoke Newington's wildlife and conducts surveys for national databases in order to:
• improve the quality of habitats in Stoke Newington,
• increase the area given to nature & conservation in Stoke Newington,
• prevent erosion of existing natural sites,
• gain more access to reserves for local naturalists.
