Here are some of the many to play in The Tar Babies.... There are about twenty part-timers or "deps" as they're known in the biz , and you could see any of them cropping up from time to time lending a different slant to the sound of the band. At the moment the band is essentially Joolz, Lee, and Ash. Several members of the crew will often be touring with some big named dudes which is why they're great players but often unavailable. They even occasionally become a five piece when joined by such katz as "Marc The Harp" ( a kind of weird dude who lives in a bus).

The name of the band comes from "De Tar Baby" one of the "The Uncle Remus" stories, .

The Prince of Wales in Tunbridge Wells misspelt their name for 2 years until finally when they were listed as "The Ponce of Wiles" they finally advertised the band in it's correct form.
