Multiple Sclerosos is not contagious.Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system. It is an unpredictable disease with varying periods of relapse (when MS is active) and remission (when MS is inactive).
It is very specific to individuals and no two sufferers have identical symptoms. Comparisons with the progress of the illness in others will not point to the outcome of MS in someone else.
It is not known what causes MS and as of yet there is no cure.
Research is on-going and there are drugs available which can supress and alievate the symptoms of certain sufferers, depending upon suitability.
For more detailed information on Multiple Sclerosis please contact one of the Branch Officers who will happy to post out literature and/or have a chat about any problems.
