GAIRLOCH is situated on the shores of loch Gairloch, and is a typical Highland village with scattered houses and crofts. With a lovely sandy beach adjacent to the 9 hole Gairloch Golf Course, adequate shopping facilities, a post office and licensed hotels make it a good centre for relaxing or, for the more energetic, hill walking, climbing and touring. Loch fishing is available on the many lochs and boat trips can be arranged from Gairloch and Ullapool. Sea angling is available from Gairloch, Poolewe and Ullapool.
The famous Inverewe Gardens at Poolewe are only six miles away and must be visited.
