Isles of Scilly 20-27 October 2007

Black Redstarts became more abundant as the week progressed, eventually they were virtually everywhere!

This Blackpoll Warbler at Higher Moors was a hang on from the previous week. It was my second following one on Tresco many, many years ago.

This Blyth's Pipit on Tresco didn't allow much time for photos as it was seen on a stop-off from the Bryher Blyth's Reed Warbler. It was showing better than this photo suggests.

A Greenshank at Lower Moors. Sadly this was much more exciting than the Wilson's Snipe that was just behind it!

The Rose-breasted Grosbeak on St. Agnes. Unfortunately I was at the back of the crowd when the mega photos were being taken - however many people struggled to even see it so I count myself lucky.

I've always wanted to take a decent image of a Red-breasted Flycatcher as they're quite attractive for a small brown thing. This one at Carreg Dhu Gardens was obliging.

Time on St Agnes was at a premium so this Rose-coloured Starling didn't get much attention.

Siskins were everywhere. Virtually every bush has a few and many were exceptionally tame. My photos are quite poor considering how well they were showing.

Snow Bunting on the Golf Course. You can usually count on a few of these.

The tame Song Thrushes are always very easy to photograph.

Spoonbill on the Great Pool, Tresco. At least it moved about a bit.

A late Wheatear on Tresco. You could imagine it being a Greenland.

The Wilson's Snipe at Lower Moors. Must admit, I've seen more interesting birds.
