Our first encounter with a Siberian Husky was when we decided that we'd like to share our lives with a dog, and considering we were living in Germany we knew that we had to be certain of our decision as the dog we chose would have to go through quarantine when we returned to the UK. We eventually heard about Leika through a German animal shelter who knew that she was needing a good home, so a few phone calls later we arranged to meet the family who had Leika. And when we did meet her we were immediately stunned by her beauty.... black and white markings with the most intense blue/white eyes we had ever seen. We fell in love instantly and her owners were more than happy for her to come home with us after we gave them our word that she would be with us now until the end of her days, she was 11 months when she joined our family. Ben joined our lives when we decided that Leika needed a companion after returning home from Germany and after she had been through quarantine. He came to us through the NCDL in Shropshire... we know nothing of his background only that he was a little stray that melted our hearts. We think he's a German Shepherd cross Whippet... but that's debateable!! All we do know is that he is incredibly fast and very, very intelligent!! And finally Zolly came to join us courtesy of the Scottish Siberian Husky Club Rescue to whom we'll always be greatful for letting this lovely dog come and share our lives. He's a large white/buff/grey 11 1/2 year old Siberian and a truly beautiful old man, although somewhere along the line someone has forgotten to tell him that now he's 11 + he can start taking life easy.... he is a powerful dog and would run all day if we let him!! He is now a very much loved member of our little pack.
