As you can see the Turbine Propellor used to harness the Strongest Winds in the Bristol Channel is lifted into place. Each stage is delicately put together, if the Wind or Tide is wrong then this can cause severe dangers to the Crew and Construction workers who are carefully placing each Nut & Bolt and Structure in place.
A Windfarm will provide a nursery area for lots of Migratory fish NO Trawling NO Gilnetting
These Turbines are desigened to stand up against Storm Force Gales, however they can only operate in conditions that are suitable and each will be fitted with monitors and Cameras (CCTV) that can be operated day or night in case of operational problems or any Emergency that might arise within the Area. The area will be Policed 24 hours a day and all CCTV footage will be monitored daily 24 hours a day.
Over Trawling has demised our fish stocks greatly now we have a chance to sustain the Marine Ecology
The project should be up and running within 8/10 months of permission being granted by the Welsh Assembly weather permitting. The Turbine structures when placed will provide a natural Reef area which will increase and sustain Crustaceans and Cetaeans that frequent the areas as well as provide a so called Nursery Area for all breeding fish this will be Trawler Exempt and Gill Netting Exempt by the Welsh Assembly as underlying Cables are at risk by Anchor and Trawls. Anchoring Buoys will be provided for private & Charter Vessels to anchor off not to affect Recreational Fishing
From Swansea Foreshore this is approx' how you will see the Wind Farm.
This Offshore view is how the Windfarm should look from Swansea Foreshore. The Project should run for about 22 years and provide about 10% of Swansea with Greener Electricity, we would rather this than have a Nuclear Powered Sub Station on our door step would'nt you?
