They’ve played numerous gigs at folk clubs, and folk festivals – including Warwick, Oxford and Cheltenham. Magpie Lane's New Christmas show
‘Knock at the knocker, Ring at the bell’
Featuring traditional carols, along with secular songs and dance tunes appropriate for Christmas and the Winter season. Many of the carols were collected from rural singers roughly one hundred years ago; the songs themselves were even then somewhat archaic, and had been left behind by changing popular taste. Some of the songs date back a couple of centuries, are still sung today, as part of vigorous community carolling traditions.
Top Festival Band normally only appearing at leading Festivals. 6 piece group from Oxford, they epitomize the Southern English Tradition. Bags of instruments including Cello & Hurdy Gurdy, Percussion, Fiddle, Concertina, Bouzouki, Flute & Guitar. They all sing beautifully. Very popular.
