Self-Catering Holiday Cottage in the Lake District
An excellent base for exploring Windermere and the Lakes, and a cosy retreat to come home to, Pilgrims
Rest is set in a quiet area at the very top edge of Bowness-on-Windermere. The cottage borders on open
country and the start/finish of the Dales Way path, branching to the low fell of Brantfell with its superb
views of the Lake and the hills beyond.
This traditional mid-terraced, stone-built cottage offers good quality comfortable accommodation for up
to five and retains some original interior features such as stone walls and exposed beams. It was
recently awarded the
English Tourism Council's
3-star grading.
On one side the cottage overlooks rising fields and trees with the path ascending through them.
On the other, from the upper floors, it overlooks the Windermere valley. In winter snows, the field
opposite is great for sledging.
"A lovely, cosy cottage. It really felt like home."
