Self-Catering Holiday Cottage in the Lake District
|
Downwards A five minute walk down the steep road takes you to the heart of Bowness, with
many eating places and shops at hand, and only a few steps from the boating terminal and the lake itself.
The ferry to the west side of the lake is a short drive away.

Upwards As you head up the rising track starting by the cottages car park you first
encounter a solid stone seat and a sign "81 miles to Ilkley" and the beginnings of a magnificent view
over Lake Windermere. If you go on up to the top of Brantfell nearby, you are rewarded by the
view opening up still more.
|
|
Onwards Or you could continue along the Dales Way, following a delightful undulating rural
walk, here and there opening onto low fells again.

Lakeland Scenery Nothing surpasses the beauty of the Lake District, with its mountains
and fells, streams and waterfalls, and of course the lakes themselves. Windermere is England's largest
lake, popular for watersports and boat cruises, and with many nearby walks and splendid scenery.
