Mnemonic: wham! - Take the katakana for "u", place a golfball on the tee at the top, take a shot and ... wham! You're left with this symbol.

Sound: wo

Mnemonic: wok - This is a closeup of the edge of a wok, viewed from the side. It happens to be a transparent wok, partially filled with water.

Sound: n

Mnemonic: n - In order to write the hiragana symbol, you drew the letter n badly. Now the English teacher (who doesn't realise that you are writing Japanese) is telling you off for doing so. You can see his head and his arm which he is waving in agitation.
