Sound: ta
Mnemonic: tack - A wire (vertical line) is being attached to a wall using three tacks. Only one has been fastened so far.
Sound: chi
Mnemonic: cheap - This symbol looks like the number 5 with the top stroke out of place. £5 is a pretty cheap price for, say, a car.
Sound: tsu
Mnemonic: tsunami - Another easy one. This symbol shows a picture of a huge wave, a tsunami.
Sound: te
Mnemonic: temperature - The horizontal line represents a thermometer. The temperature has risen so high that the bulb has burst, and mercury is spurting out all over the place.
Sound: to
Mnemonic: toffee - This is a picture of the lower part of a person's face seen from the side (the chin is the bit that sticks out). The mouth is closed because the person's teeth are stuck together with too much toffee.
