As a sole
practitioner, Mick McLoughlin provides all clients
with senior expertise. He has considerable knowledge
of planning law, procedures and practice as well as
a deep understanding of the processes which affect
property development and decisions on planning matters.
His professional qualifications are all first-rate
and since his election as a corporate member of the
Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in 1988 he has
practised as a Chartered Town Planner, maintaining
this status through continuous professional development
training.
He has 15 years extensive experience of town planning
gained in the private and public sectors. His career
has included several senior technical and managerial
positions within local government development control
and forward planning teams, together with experience
as a planning expert within private industry facilitating
commercial and operational development.
He has been a Director of Planning Aid responsible
for advising and training community groups and others
on planning matters. He has also been employed by
several Universities and training organisations to
lecture on planning law and aspects of planning practice.
Mick is currently a member of the Executive Committee
of the RTPI (Yorkshire Branch).
Areas of expertise include: housing, business/commercial
uses, rural and countryside development, conservation
areas, listed buildings, greenbelts, National Parks,
urban and rural regeneration, utilities and infrastructure,
renewable energy and planning in villages and market
towns.
