By marketing our free range eggs, honey, pork and bacon this way, we can cut out the middlemen, bringing you free range eggs, prize winning honey and superb quality lean meat at a sensible price. You can collect the bacon and pork from our farm or, for a charge of £5, we will deliver it straight to your home within 15 miles radius of the centre of Bedford.

Traditional Farming

Mill Ponds is a traditionally run smallholding with pig and free range poultry enterprises. I have over forty years experience of keeping pigs and been farming here for over thirty years.

All our pigs are reared on the farm using traditional straw based methods with plenty of fresh air and natural daylight. They are fed on a cereal based diet supplied by a quality assured national feed supply company.

All animals are sent to a long established local butcher who will ensure that the meat is hung for the optimum time to give perfect taste and tenderness in a traditional manner.

The bacon and ham are cured by a local company to give a high quality product.

We operate a welfare friendly rearing system which means that the animals are able to root amongst the straw and have free access to food and water.
