| A revised family tree , including all known ancestors of both my mother and father. I have now removed some unconnected material which had been imported over the years. The main family names included are :- Casey, Chase, Choat, Crocker , Croker, Davies , Dockrell , Lang , Meadowcroft & Wilkins. There are , however many others. I have had to take some radical action to remedy some gremlins which were creating duplicates of various Lang ancestors and hope that in the process I have not lost any data! Many thanks to Shirley Parker , Sue Millwood , Ron Meadowcroft and others for their valuable contributions. Two apocryphal stories have come to light :- a) That the Meadowcrofts did not originally come from Lancashire , but the name was an Anglicization of a Russian name , and that our ancestors were White Russians who fled. persecution by one of the Tsars. b) That either the Casey or Chase family had originally fled from Ireland when their public house was burnt down one night during riots! This may have happened in the 1780's , but I cannot find any proof . I have found no evidence of either of these events , although distant members of the family have heard similar tales! Please e-mail if you feel that you have anything to add , or can correct anything! I have tried to include more photo's but there is a link to my on-line photo album below. The scrapbook section contains photos & scans of old photos , gravestones etc . I shall no longer maintain a copy of this family tree on Freeserve/Wanadoo ,although the Pipex version may be updated from time to time.
