MEMBERSHIPThe membership roll currently stands at 70. Full yearly membership fees cost £25. This is used mainly to pay for postage and stationery items to keep all Mas Bands informed of meetings & of the activities of the committee on your behalf.
If you are a non-member who benefits from the services the NHMBA provides – please do join! Help us to represent you from a position of unity and strength...
Please note that the Associate Membership Fee for 2006 will be £75.00
SPECIAL NOTE
Membership, of NHMBA or any other Mas association does not guarantee a place on the road at Notting Hill Carnival.
The London Notting Hill Carnival Ltd has the authority to permit or refuse entry of any performing unit to Notting Hill Carnival.
New Bands will only be allowed in the parade in their own right if they replace an eligible band who no longer wishes to participate or non appearance for two years.
Bands are being encouraged to link with existing bands in order to participate on the road.

Future NHMBA Meeting Dates & New Meeting place
Following the exit of the LNHCL from the Carnival offices at 332 Ladbroke Grove at the end of November 2003, the space will no longer be available for meetings of the NHMBA. It is proposed that all future meetings of the NHMBA take place at the Paddington Development Trust, in the viewing room where we held our last AGM. I hope that, like me, you will agree that this move is well overdue and that a move to this space for our meetings will be both a welcomed and refreshing change. It will provide an opportunity for a still young NHMBA to continue its rapid but exciting development; allowing it to continue to flourish in an atmosphere free from the taints and the ghosts of previous administrations.
All future NHMBA meetings will be held at:-
Paddington Development Trust
Westbourne Studios
Unit 026
242 Acklam Road
London W10 5JJ
Executive Meetings:-
Every 1st Tuesday each Month.
TO BE ADVISED
Members Meetings:-
Every 2nd Tuesday of the month.
TO BE ADVISED
Time:- 7.00pm
NHMBA Membership Renewal
The constitution of NHMBA states that ‘Membership will lapse if a member fails to pay the membership subscription for two (2) consecutive AGM’s, plus a period of grace of three (3) calendar months after the second of the two (2) consecutive AGMs.’
There are still a number of bands that have not paid their membership fee for 2003. If they choose not to pay the feeagain this year they will de in danger of being ineligible to take part in future Notting Hill Carnival because thay will not be members of a Mas Association. It may be that the bands concerned have joined LICMA, if this is the case please let me know.

The SELF in NHMBA is its distinct identity, this makes it SELF-ASSURED, but NOT SELFISH.
We have SELF DETERMINATION, which is SELF EVIDENT, in our demonstration to be SELF SUFFICIENT.
