THE LAKE: Garda is the biggest lake in Europe and in parts looks like the sea. Malcesine is at one of its narrowest points and it takes only 20 minutes to cross to the other side to the picturesque village of Limone. The landscape is mountainous with olive groves and cypress trees. The main lakeside road is busy during the holiday season with coaches and holidaymakers' cars. In spite of that, Malcesine is a great place for a peaceful holiday. The area around the flat is quiet and you hardly meet a soul walking in the mountains.
