THE TOWN: Malcesine town-centre is two minutes away by car and there are several car-parks. Alternatively it takes about 15-minutes on foot. The town has a good supply of shops, restaurants and bars. The town itself is very pleasant with narrow cobbled streets and a medieval castle on a promontory overlooking the lake. It's very quiet in winter (October to March) when many of the shops are closed. In Summer it is bustling but rarely crowded except on market day (Saturday). There are ferry services to all towns on the lake plus a cable car that goes to the top of the highest mountain in the area, Monte Baldo
