This is a message sent from the Orlando Bloom Fan Club manager to a friend of mine. She asked me to post it here on the Fan Clubs behalf. From the Manager of the OB Fan Club Orlando is very appreciative of the support shown by his fans for his work as a film actor. Such is the volume of mail that he cannot possibly read every letter – but he receives regular reports about his fan mail and a small percentage of messages by fans is sent for his personal attention. He is genuinely touched by the collective effort and kind thoughts and support of his fans and hopes they will be understanding that all the letters cannot be answered personally. It is hard to forward gifts to him as he is so often abroad filming in exotic places. Fan letters ( some 600 a week arrive! ) are dealt with by a small team who can only reply to those who include in their mail a provision for stamps for the reply ( e.g. most countries supply reply coupons ( send 2, or a money order for L2 or equivalent in US dollars ) for those living outside of Europe as well as a self-addressed envelope of a minimum size ( 22.5cm x 11cm or 8.5 inches x 4 inches ). The address MUST include the country and zip code. He hopes that once a fan has received a reply, they will not feel it necessary to write again – giving more room for other fans to receive a reply. Thank you for your understanding. Orlando had a very happy traditional Christmas with his family at home – just like so many of you, and is trying to get in some essential rest before leaving in the New Year to start filming The Kingdom of Heaven, the new Ridley Scott film about the Crusades – in which Orlando plays the lead. Ridley Scott anticipates the film will be “ bigger than Gladiator.” Troy, in which he plays Paris, opposite Brad Pitt, will be out later this year, and he hopes all the fans will enjoy these and his future films. He has a lot of offers in the pipeline to be excited about!
