Visit to Longstock Nursery near Stockbridge Hants.

The Hampshire Group of the British Clematis Society, met at Longstock Nursery on Sunday 18th May. Rain was threatening and a cool wind didn't help either. Most of the Alpina and Macropetala clematis had finished flowering, but there were a few blooms hanging on, and the unlabeled ones started a mini identification quiz.
On to the outer walls of the walled nursery, where there were some large flowered hybrids in flower and also the wrought iron tunnel which has most of the collection of Clematis Viticella  intermingled with roses along its length, they should all be in flower, next time we return in July.

And as the sign says he is, "Not For Sale", we need him to guide us through the wonderful world of growing Clematis.
