Both of these built into the wall at the main gate- Here lye George TEALFER who died the water Nover the 1 1696, being the Lord's Day as they were going home from the kirk after sermon, age 22. Here lyes Andrew CROSBIE, son to David CROSBIE in GLINYER who died in the water Novert (sic) 1 1696, being the Lord's Day as they were going home from kirk after sermon, age 2 Tradition states that the Esk River came down in flood during the service and the boat was overloaded carrying 28 to 35 of the passengers who were drowned.
