Black hat - obstacles/problems
Discipline the thinking - think only about problems and obstacles and/or only about benefits.
Yellow hat - benefits

Red hat - gut reaction
Gauge a gut reaction, without any need for justification.
Think 'outside the box'.
Green hat - creative thinking

White hat - facts/information
Establish the facts - what do we know? What do we need to know?
Think about the thinking. Are we on task? Is the right hat being worn at the right time?
