In 1996 I bought my first Akita, Micha Flower Girl, an American Akita (GJD), unfortunately Micha developed problems with allergies, which over the past 4 years have steadily got worse. She has improved over this past year, after changing her diet to a raw foods. When I first started researching the Akita, I was surprised to find, that in fact there are 2 types of Akita, the American Akita (GJD) and the Japanese Akita ( Akita-Inu). After meeting and talking to Gary Byrne I have learnt a great deal more about the Jap. Akita. I put my name down for a puppy from Gary, and 3yrs later I bought Akakuro Shiro Go. I would like to thank Gary and Carolyn for allowing me to have Shiro, and putting up with all my questions. Shiro is doing well in the showring, in Ireland on the Munster Circuit 2004, Shiro went Grad. 2nd at Clonmel & Killarney, at Tralee Grad 1st & Res. Green Star. Hopefully the KC here in the UK will make the decision to split the breed in the next couple of years, as I feel that this will only benefit the breed. I have made many friends in the past few years, and I would like to thank them for all there help, especially Gary & Carolyn Byrne of Akakuro, Karen & Steve Rowley of Danti Akitas & Tracy Morris of Bluevine Akitas, but most of all to my sister, Lesley, for all the support she has given me. Shiro's EYE TEST: CLEAR HIP SCORE 3 : 4
