Jollies F.c. 8--1 F.c. A nchorsholme Jollies started their campaign off with a convincing win over strongly fancied Anchorsholme.Anchorsholme kicked off, and after early exchanges it was Anchorsholme who drew first blood hitting the crossbar, the ball was quickly cleared to Greg Spencer, whose jinxing run beatin 6 players, scored by rounding the keeper and coolly slotting the ball home. After Spencer shot fired wide Stevie Perkes increased Jollies lead smashing in a high drive from Spencers pass.Anchorsholme were no match for the fired up Jollies but only a fine one-handed save by Morley from Slaters back-header stopped Anchorsholme from pulling back the deficit.Steve Perkes,Andy Moran,Sean Slater and Mike Anderson dealt with everything at the back, while Tez Beavers,Col Geddes,Greg Spencer and John Beavers created openings for front men Daz Smith and Grez Parker.Great passing movements in the midfield saw Stevie Perkes fire wide.Jollies were reduced to 10 men when Grez Parker came off after a crunching tackle by the visitors keeper.Jollies then lost Tez Beavers after being red carded.Jollies fought hard out the remaining half defending doggedly until the ref blew for half-time.H.T.2-0. Jollies did not lay down and went on the offensive and increased their lead when goal getter Daz Smithfinished off John Beavers'excellant work.John Beavers made it four lobbing the stranded keeper from 20yds.after being put through by Spencer.Frustration reared its ugly head as Anchorsholme had two players sent off for bad challenges. The visitors defence couldn't cope with the tireless running of Smith ,who was rewarded by scoring three goals in quick succession.Col Geds finished off the rout by netting Jollies eighth.Anchorsholme scored their consolation goal from the penalty spot after Slater was adjudged to have fouled a player in the area.
