PURPOSE OF THE CV WORKSHOP
To show participants
the difference between a traditional CV, as produced by
the majority of schools, colleges and "CV experts",
and a modern, functional CV that emphasises their strengths
and abilities. Participants will then have the opportunity
to draft the main components of their own functional CV,
which can then be used as an effective selling tool in their
quest for a job.

the type of CV most appropriate to their needs

the components of a modern, functional CV

a hand-written draft of their CV

(with the facilitator) a word-processed CV

basic (word-processed) CV presentation techniques
TRAINING
TECHNIQUES
The seminar
involves a combination of one-on-one or small group work,
with information provided by the facilitator, as well as
work carried out by the individual participants.
In one-on-one
sessions the participants will, with the facilitator's assistance,
produce a copy of their CV, together with a version on floppy
disk for their own use. The composition, structure and production
of a suitable covering letter to go with the completed CV
can also be offered (if appropriate).
