Cummings lived and farmed in Dent near Sedbergh, in the West Riding of Yorkshire,
their farmhouse was called “HELMSIDE ”, in 1803/1804 they moved
from Dent to Howgill , in Sedbergh to a farm called “LOCKBANK FARM”
Edward and Esther Cummings were my 3 x great grandparents.
My 2x great -grandparents Edward and Dorothy Cummings, moved to Orton
in the county of Westmorland their farm in Orton was called "BROCKHOLES"
My great-grandparents Thomas and Elizabeth Cummings lived and farmed
in Lyth, Westmorland
My grandparents Robert Inman and Eliza Cummings lived in Witherslack, Westmorland
and Lindale- in-Cartmel [on the Lancashire, Westmorland border]
