We are on the North West side of the Lake District, which is quiet, unlike the South East Lakes. Ennerdale Lake is beautiful, and is the only major lake not to have a road around it. There are excellent mountain and woodland walks within easy reach, and country walks from the door. Cockermouth is a lovely local market town and Whitehaven is a little known Georgian harbour town. Buttermere and Wasdale are 30 minutes drive away.
