Luc Walpot Harpist

Luc Walpot has been playing the harp since the age of nine. He studied the Concert Harp in Holland and later moved to Ireland to specialise in playing the Celtic Harp.

In his professional career as a soloist he attracts a wide range of audiences in Britain and abroad. He also performs with other musicians who accompany him with violin and flute.

Luc has composed several pieces of harp music. He teaches the harp privately and leads a harp orchestra.

Luc plays with his brother Marc in a duet called The Walpot Brothers. For several years they have toured in Britain, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and France.

Their repetoire has been assembled from melodies from all over Europe. It contains many classical and celtic songs and also vocal accompaniment. The harp and violin blend to create a unique style.

The music is top class in technique and expression, and this together with the joy and humour of the presentation leaves no audience unmoved.
