WELCOME!Welcome to the GUSNA (Glasgow University Scottish Nationalist Association) website. Please have a look around to find out more about us and Scottish Independence issues (especially for students!). ABOUT USGlasgow University Scottish Nationalists Association
(GUSNA) is an organisation made up of students who have a firm belief in a
free and independent Scotland. It has just celebrated its 75th year
in existence and represents a student movement that pre-dates the Scottish
National Party itself. GUSNA
has a rich tradition and heritage which has helped to inspire well-known
Scottish politicians, as well as those trying to make their way in modern
politics. It is affiliated to the Federation of Student Nationalists (FSN),
which represents the national movement of students campaigning for Scottish
independence. Throughout the academic year GUSNA holds many events
which bring its members together behind the cause of independence, but which
stimulate debate and action toward other important issues facing Scotland and
the world today. But GUSNA is also about action and not just about talking.
Members take part and initiate campaigning, both on and off campus, on a
variety of issues ranging from student debt, to nuclear disarmament. This also
provides many occasions for members to socialise and get to know one another. GUSNA meets weekly as well as holding public
meetings with guest speakers. We are a friendly and dynamic society where
those who believe in Scottish independence will always be welcome. If you wish
to become a member or find out more, please come along to one of our meetings
or contact us.
