The History Of The Greyhound

"The Greyhound" was built around 1720 as a Coaching and Posting Inn, and is now a Grade II listed building. It has been extensively renovated and totally refurbished to an extremely high standard by the owners Robert and Janet Eggleston. "The Greyhound" stands in the centre of Lutterworth in Market Street and is close to a variety of shops and the towns' Market Place. The Lutterworth market has been held every Thursday since an initial grant was made by King John to Nicholas de Verdun in 1214

The Courtyard

The 18th century Courtyard with its 40 ft underground well is the central feature of the Greyhound and the 18th century brickwork has been carefully renovated. Behind the hotel is a free car park for 60 cars , which can be reached by driving into Church street and along Chapel street

Reception

The friendly reception staff will provide you with details of all the local amenities, from Swimming Pools and Cinema to Golf and Tennis. A £2 million pound Leisure Centre is soon to be built in Lutterworth.
We also offer a wide range of business facilities - whatever you need, we will help if at all possible.

Bedrooms

All 30 en-suite bedrooms have been individually decorated to a very high specification. Whether an inexpensive single room or one of the luxurious suites.

Often very different in character, each is furnished with a colour TV, trouser press, hair dryer, clock radio, tea and coffee making facilities and a direct dial telephone.

Two of the six ground floor bedrooms have been designed for the disabled visitor with their safety and comfort very much in mind.

Lounge Bar

Welcoming and often jolly, a wide variety of snacks and full meals are available at lunch time and for evening dinner.

The bar is open all day, and of course, real ale is served

Restaurant

Our Chefs provide delectable cuisine to suit every taste , and diners can select from a comprehensive A LA Carte or set menu complemented by an extensive wine list.

The Vaults

The old arched cellars of the Inn (called The Vaults Bistro) have been renovated in a simple and completely different fashion and offer a "bistro" atmosphere.
The food is predominantly Italian style. A wide variety of wines, vintage and otherwise, are always available.

Regularly changing , menus vary between creative English cooking using fresh vegetables and local produce, and international cuisine, and guests who prefer vegetarian meals are carefully catered for.
The restaurant is large enough to cater for a wedding party of up to 76 people, but whatever the event , it can be divided into smaller dining area for select private parties up to 60.

Conference Facilities and Banqueting Rooms

As you will see opposite "The Greyhound" is able to offer a variety of comprehensive conference facilities, including a large comfortable meeting room capable of seating 64 people banqueting style.

An overhead projector, slide projector, screen and flip charts, widescreen 29" television and VCR are all provided - free of charge - together with pads, pencils and refreshments throughout the conference.

Companies can select from a variety of meeting formats: morning only, lunch meeting or the more normal whole day with perhaps dinner to conclude.
Refreshments are served outside the main conference room

Syndicate Rooms

Three syndicate rooms are available for smaller meetings, one of which can be set up for 40 people "Theatre" style.
