“The gardener is part of something cosmic, a pattern universal, a purpose Divine”. From “Sacred Gardens” by Martin Palmer & David Manning.
My love affair with plants and gardening started as a young child when my Dad gave me a small plot of land of my very own. I have been involved with horticulture ever since, designing and creating gardens for myself over the years before moving to North Yorkshire in 1995.

My main intention then was to create another garden on a ¾ acre site. My passion for gardens grew until I decided to study garden design as a profession, and I gained my diploma with distinctions.
Let me help you to get the most out of your outdoor space by designing an individual and imaginative garden for you. I can design a practical garden whatever your requirements are.
Such as: a safe play area for children; a tranquil sanctuary to relax in; a sensory garden to stimulate; a wildlife haven; a low-maintenance design; a woodland retreat; somewhere to entertain; a garden for the disabled and many more.
I offer a full design service including a site visit, and on-site advice and consultation, within North Yorkshire, or a postal service throughout the UK.
The postal service saves you the extra expense of a site visit. You receive full instructions on how to measure your garden, how to test the pH of your soil and find what type of soil you have. Also you receive a detailed questionnaire asking you exactly what you would like and what you don’t want.
As well as the individual hand-drawn plans the service includes:- instructions on how to build features- full planting plans- advice on after-care and maintenance.
A well-designed garden is an investment and enhances the value of your property. Many people want to enjoy their outdoor spaces and as we now live in such a mobile world a well-designed garden is also a good selling point.
