Our son Ben was born with a cleft lip and palate and has had to have surgery to correct these. He has had a global delay with his development and was referred to Portage. He was then found to have diabetes insipidus at the age of 20 months which is thought to have been the cause for his developmental delay as since receiving treatment his development has improved a little. Despite being unwell for some time and having to go through 2 lots of surgery, Ben has remained a happy little boy who enchants everyone who he meets.
