About Me & Why I Did This.

I am 38 and I currently live and work in Lancashire, England.

I started working within the funeral industry at the age of sixteen. I got my first experiences whilst employed by a small but well established family owned funeral home based in Manchester.

I was inspired by the man who ran this business to become a funeral director, I believe his nature toward his clients to be the most sincere I have ever seen. He took the time to explain to me why he operated his company in the way he did and he is proof that caring people still exist.

Once I had passed my driving test I was allowed to drive on funerals and remove deceased persons from Hospitals and also to share in on call duties. I was more involved and began to realise just how important my role was.

Unfortunately, it was when the business was sold to a large organisation that the whole structure of the company changed.
we were restricted to just how much we could offer a client, we had the pressure from above to sell and the whole mood of the staff changed for the worse almost overnight.

There are benefits of belonging to larger companies, job security for one, but I did not feel comfortable anymore and took the decision to leave.

From here I still had the desire to work within the funeral profession as I felt I had the experience and the caring nature to assist families during their time of need.

After spending a futher seven years within the profession working for large companies and family run business alike I decided that the trend of uncaring, profit dictated funeral businesses was not for me.

I have now left the profession and I am employed in a totally different line of work but still I wish to share the knowledge and caring attitude I have with others during their time of need in the hope that they can take on this advice, to ensure that their loved one gets the funeral service they deserve, with minimal cost, fuss and maximum satisfaction.

I am more than happy to discuss funeral related matters or concerns further and can be contacted via the e-mail address on my home page.
