Firstly we are unsure as to what the origional date of manufacture is, this may sound silly but when we carried out a security check it was left blank but also stated it had been imported, and it was first registered in 1957, but what we are sure of it that it is definatley not a 57, when we brought it we were led to belive it was a 55 but we think it could be earlier, why i hear you ask well it has the origional fabric roof lining, the origional bonnet motief, we have the origional boot handle the same as the one shown on the prototype prefect that i have read was changed in october 54 due to downward poiting handle when opened described as a dangerous spike if this is wrong please correct me.
It came with origional echo stereo situated in the dash on the drivers offside next to the door, and interior light,she also has the chroming along the side with chrome all in one head lap bezzels,sugesting to us she is a deluxe although this is not stated on the registration document.
The prefect badge on the boot is not on the boot lid signifying it to be an earlier model,
but the dash is that of a pre 57 face lift car.
The differences goes on from the bumpers to the back lights and yet we are still no closer to determing what year it really is although we think it is a late 54 early 55,
I have writen to the dlva and recived some information back like the last owners and when it was sold,although is says the first owner was in 1983 so that is still no help, if anyone has any ideas of how we can go about finding out more or any good advice please contact us.
