FUNERALS

Funeral and memorial flowers can also be pressed, framed and preserved for family or friends who want a small memento of a loved one. Often, just a single flower is taken from a wreath or spray to be pressed, (as in the single perfect red rose opposite) but it could equally be a collection of flowers, or even a larger spray of flowers.

OTHER OCCASIONS, SPECIAL FLOWERS

I also press and frame flowers or plants for anniverseries, birthdays, christenings etc. Perhaps someone has given you a special bouquet of flowers, or even a single significant bloom, that you would like to keep beyond the life of the cut flower. Or even blooms from a plant that holds special memories, such as the picture opposite of beautiful Phalaenopsis orchids (known as the Moth orchid, and its name actually means 'resembling a moth') pressed from a growing orchid plant.

Another alternative is a collage of pressed flowers, shown opposite, featuring vibrant pink shades.

GREETINGS CARDS

Pressed flower greetings cards are lovely to give, and they can feature flowers of special significance to the recipient, or the occasion. They can also be used to convey a special message in the Language of Flowers. For instance Snowdrops for hope, Gardenia for peace, Celandine for joy and Forget-me-not for true love.

PAPERWEIGHTS

The paperweights are available in oval and round shapes. They are ideal for incorporating a few small flowers and are perfect gifts.
