KEN TAYLOR
Ken Taylor was born in Huddersfield in 1935 and now lives in North Norfolk. He trained as an artist at Huddersfield School of Art and at The Slade School of Fine Art in London and has been a teacher of Art for thirty years. His art ranges from pastel drawings of sportsmen to evocative paintings of landscapes and buildings.
A batsman, occasional bowler and brilliant fielder, he played cricket for Yorkshire from 1953 to 1968 and three times for England. He also played football for Bill Shankly’s Huddersfield Town in the old First Division. An old-fashioned centre half, he played in the same side as the young Denis Law.
He is the subject of Fairfield Books’ latest title Ken Taylor – Drawn To Sport, which displays his art work in full colour.
His illustrations also appear in Runs in the Memory, Caught in the Memory and One More Run and on the jacket of No Coward Soul.
