Last year we held DBM and DBA competitions.
A Warhammer 40k contest (Well done Colin).
A Warhammer Fantasy contest (Colin won again!)

The Open day was a great success with lots of games, both historical and sci-fi/fantasy, being played. The bring and buy went well as did the Refreshments on offer in the kitchen (Thanks to the Hockaday family).

Last year the club started playing Heroclix (a superhero wargame) big time and we will continue to do so this year. so anyone who plays come and have a game with us.

Other new games we tried include Vampire Hunting in victorian period, Alien wars and strangest of all a game of Pig Tickler (like polo played on unicycles by victorian military officers trying to hit a steam powered pig with a lance!) See the ground zero games site in our links page for more info.

We had a large Warhammer game with 5 people per side each with a 2000 point army. Chaos on one side vs The rest of the world. It pains me to say that in the end Chaos won despite my Lizardmen putting up a good fight on the good guys side.

We next tried a 40k game with 3 players a side and again 2000pt armies. I took my Deathwing which may have been a mistake as I only got to field 24 figs for the points cost! Indeed i got soundly whipped by a chaos force taht outnumbered me 4 to 1, losing a dreadnaught and a landraider on turn 1 did not help my cause at all!
Wait til i get my deamonhunters painted then we will see who's boss.....
