UPDATED 6/5/03:The British Team recently returned from training camps and competitions in Ploiesti, Romania and Varna, Bulgaria. These were aimed at preparation for the major event of the year - the 2003 World Championships in Anaheim, USA in August, which will also serve as Qualification for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2003: Unfortunately David was quite seriously injured at the beginning of June. He was competing on the high bar apparatus at an international held at Wigan. He landed awkwardly causing breaking a dangerous area of the neck and tearing ligaments. He is now ok but there is not a clear estimation of when or if he can return to training in the near future. He is currently still undertaking physio. UPDATED JULY 2004: David has recently gained the confidence and strength to enter back into the gymnastic atmosphere on a weekend basis aswell as helping out with some coaching. It is not clear as to what level he might come back to but the most important thing is he has been able to overcome this injury.
