As another year concludes, on behalf of Denby Dale Cricket Club may I thank everyone who contributed to the outstanding success of the Harvest Festival which raised a staggering £1128 in the Pie Hall on Sunday evening.
You may have noticed that the square has now been renovated. All the river silt was mechanically removed and a new surface has now been laid, thanks to a grant received from the England and Wales Cricket Trust Limited Flood Relief Fund. The England and Wales Cricket Trust Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the England and Wales Cricket Board. If you enter the field for any reason, please be very careful. Better still please keep both yourself and your pets off the grass.
The next step is to replace the artificial wicket and roll on roll off net, both severely damaged in the floods, in time for next season. Anybody with a spare £6000 please give me a ring.
