LOCATION: CUCQ

Our house is situated in a quiet residential street in the village of Cucq, which borders the well-known seaside resort of Le Touquet, and is 1 mile from Etaples. It is within easy reach of the ports of Calais and Boulogne, the many beautiful beaches of the Cote d'Opale, several excellent golf courses, as well as the Pas-de-Calais countryside, often by-passed by English holidaymakers. Paris is accessible by rail from Etaples. There is a baker's shop and large supermarket within a half mile of the house. French caretakers and key-holders live opposite. Cucq has its own good supermarkets, restaurants and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. LE TOUQUET The house is 3 miles from the centre of Le Touquet. This lively and chic resort has excellent shops, restaurants, golf courses, indoor swimming pool, horse riding, casino, nightclubs, theatre and concert hall, and a beautiful beach. Sporting and cultural events take place throughout the year. There is always something you can watch or join in for a bit of local culture. Shops and bars are open on Sundays and even on Christmas Day. ETAPLES Etaples is a typical small French fishing port and bustling town, quite different from Le Touquet in atmosphere, situated at the mouth of the river Canche. Its history is strongly linked with the fishing industry and there is a museum and new exhibition centre called MAREIS which are worth visiting. There are also shops of all kinds, bars restaurants and a twice weekly market.
