Graeme first took an interset in drumming in August 1998 when he visited a friend of his fathers.
He attended Packmoor Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent where he was one of the most popular pupils.
Graeme performed his first gig two months after starting playing performing at a Xmas concert with his school band.After playing for about 3 months Graeme had is first jam with adult musicians "Dave Day and the Mudsharks" at the Oxford Arms in Newcastle under Lyme.

Shortly afterwards he went to see a Jim Chapin drum clinic. Jim could not believe he had only been playing for about three months. In May 1999 Graeme played drums for the school production of "Rats".In March 2000 Graeme was invited to attend a private master class with Jim Chapin who stated "It's hard to believe how you have become so good". June 2000 Graeme awarded Musician of the Year in his High School the first time not only a year seven had received the award but also the first time a drummer had been awarded the honour. Graeme continued to make guest appearances around Shropshire and Staffordshire highlighted by an invitation to perform in July 2000 at the Madley Music Festival appearing with the headline band "Audio"
.In August 2000 Graeme was invited to play alongside guitarist Mark Ralph who had just finished recording with Tom Jones.

January 2001 aged only 13 Graeme joined top Shropshire punk band "Sonic State" he had less than five days to learn the set before appearing at the Red Rose Theatre, Rugley. The band continued to perform around Shropshire and Staffordshire before being asked to support "Sigue Sigue Sputnik". Later that year they recorded their first demo "Disco Detonation"

 In March 2002 Graeme made a guest appearance at the Royal Opera House with Chad Smith and Steve White.During the World cup he performed live in the centre of Birmingham as part of BBC Music Live. During the remainder of 2002 Graeme having left Sonic State worked with a number of other Birmingham based musicians.

Following his outstanding performance at the UK Young Drummer 2003 Graeme was invited by Steve White and Premier drums to open Steve's clinic in Shrewsbury, a remarkable achievement considering Graeme is still only 15. This was followed by a very succesfull appearance at BEAT2003 U16 drum competition which he was fortunate to win.
